William E Flynn Jr., 62, of Llewellyn passed away suddenly, Tuesday, July 22nd at his home. Born August 3, 1962, he was the son of the late Margaret and James Chernosky.
He was the husband of Marlena (Beach) Flynn
. At age 9, Bill was introduced to his first love, hard coal mining, by his dad Big Jim. He was a proud underground miner for 26 years and on Aug. 9, 1996, he became a PA State-Certified Underground Mine Foreman
. He joined the Army at age 17 serving in the Combat Engineer Unit, 12th Engineer Brigade Airborne at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he obtained his GED and Blasters License. He was a blaster in the Lehigh Valley Tunnel in 1989.
On July 10, 2002, he started Flynn Wrecking Inc. and some of his jobs included demolition of the Schuylkill Mall, Kraft Foods-Allentown, Specialty Records-Olyphant, Quandel Concrete-Minersville and Quarry at Pennsy Supply-Annville.
He enjoyed lifting weights with his “Pinner family” at the former Minersville Power Plant and the gym at Kings Village. His favorite saying was “It is what it is!”
His passion was demolishing everything, working side by side with his son, Ian, and talking shop with Ray.
He adored his granddaughters, loved his family and cherished his soulmate and wife.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father and sister, Kimberly Chernosky.
Bill is survived by his wife Marléna, son, Ian Flynn and wife Ashley; two beautiful granddaughters, Riley and Violet; his brother Dave Flynn, Ray Padelsky, a close friend and like family through their years of working together; and his 1st cousin Ernie Hummel and niece Haley Zerby.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 29th at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral home Inc.,
