Sandra Lee "Sandy" Kopinetz

Sandra Lee "Sandy" Kopinetz, 69, of Minersville, passed away Thursday, September 22nd, at Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. Sandra was born in Pottsville, on December 1, 1952, a daughter of the late Eva (Kimmel) and Mervin Bixler. She was the widow of Frederick P. Kopinetz. Sandy was a graduate of Minersville Area High School Class of 1970. 1970. Along wither husband, Fred, she had formerly owned & operated the once popular bar and music venue “Sandy’s” in Minersville. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Fred, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Slane, and an infant brother, David Bixler. Sandy is survived by two daughters, Carrie Kopinetz-Gaburick, and Caitlin Kopinetz, two sons Jamie Kopinetz, and Brandon Kopinetz She is also survived by 9 grandchildren. A visitation will be held Wednesday with calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville.
