Robert Freeman Hubler Sr.

Robert F. “Bob” Hubler Sr., 88, of Phoenix Park, Branch Township, passed away peacefully on Monday at the Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. Born in Mount Carmel, he was a son of the late Luther A. Hubler and the late Inez Else Hubler. He was the husband of 61 years to Elaine D. (Huntzinger) Hubler, originally of Branchdale. He was a lifelong resident of Phoenix Park, where he was raised and where he raised his family with his wife. He attended the former Branch Township High School, Llewellyn. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War conflict, and was stationed in Bamburg, Germany. He was employed by multiple companies throughout his life including Extrudo, Manbeck Dredging & Hauling, Setlock Trucking & Hauling, and most recently CLS Coal Company as a shovel oiler and security personnel. He was a longtime member of the Phoenix Park Union Church, Branch Township, as well as a charter member of the Phoenix Park Gun Club. Bob was an avid fisherman, gardener, dart shooter, and a diehard fan of Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, both near and far, as well as with his beloved grand-puppy, Newt. Bob was preceded in death by a sibling, Luther Hubler Jr, and a great grandchild, Camilla Grace Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, a sister, Sandra Barrett (wife of Martin), Phoenix Park, and a brother Noel (husband of Lisa), Forestville, four sons, Robert (husband of Barbara), Sanford, FL, Jeffrey (husband of JoAnn), Branch Township, Gregory S. (longtime companion of Deanna Delinko-Miller), Pottsville, and Rick, Phoenix Park, grandchildren Jordan Hubler, Longwood, FL, Chelsea Gonzalez (husband of Jose), Sanford, FL, Seth and Devin Hubler, both of Branch Township, four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Yarissa, and Jackson Gonzalez, and Emilia Mendez, all of Sanford, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, June 30th at the Phoenix Park Union Church with Pastor George Somers officiating. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation with calling hours from 9:00 am to the time of service. Interment with military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Phoenix Park Union Church, 2159 Main St, Pottsville, PA 17901. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with arrangements
