Regina T. Sinko, 98, of Low Road, Jonestown, passed away Tuesday, August 1st, at her home. Jean was born in Jonestown, Cass twp., on June 9, 1925, a daughter of the late Stephania (Topolsky) and Walter Chmiewska. She was the last surviving 1st generation member of the Chmiewska (Melusky)family. A devout catholic, she was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. She was the widow of Michael Sinko who she married in 1950. She was a former seamstress in the local garment industry. In addition to her parents, and her husband Michael, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael, as well as her siblings, Joe, Frank, Stanley, Tony, Helen, Anna, Francis and Bertha. Jean is survived by two sons Joseph Sinko, and Gerald Sinko. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Monday, August 7th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. in Minersville, PA. Office of Christian Burial 10:00 AM on Monday at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Minersville, with Very Reverend Gregory Noga officiating. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
