Regina Sinko Obituary

Regina T. Sinko, 98, of Low Road, Jonestown, passed away Tuesday, August 1st, at her home. Jean was born in Jonestown, Cass twp., on June 9, 1925, a daughter of the late Stephania (Topolsky) and Walter Chmiewska. She was the last surviving 1st generation member of the Chmiewska (Melusky)family. A devout catholic, she was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. She was the widow of Michael Sinko who she married in 1950. She was a former seamstress in the local garment industry. In addition to her parents, and her husband Michael, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael, as well as her siblings, Joe, Frank, Stanley, Tony, Helen, Anna, Francis and Bertha. Jean is survived by two sons Joseph Sinko, and Gerald Sinko. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Monday, August 7th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. in Minersville, PA. Office of Christian Burial 10:00 AM on Monday at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Minersville, with Very Reverend Gregory Noga officiating. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
