Obituary

Nellie Terefinko, 96, of Minersville, died Thursday, February 10th, at LVHN Schuylkill East, Pottsville. Nellie was born in Foster Twp., on March 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Anna (Luchanin) and Harry Loyco. She was the widow of Michael Terefinko who died, January 10, 2005. Nellie was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church of Minersville. She was a former clerk in the Schuylkill County Prothontary office. She had once been very active with the local Republican party. In addition to her parents and her husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by a Son, William Terefinko. Sisters, Anna Welkie, Mary Petruncio, Julia Fulmer and a Brother Michael Loyco. She is survived and loved by many nieces and nephews who she treated like her own children. A Requiem Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday, February 16, at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville, with Reverend Mark Fesniak officiating. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation Wednesday with calling hours from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. Interment will be at St. John Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Frackville. All current COVID-19 CDC guidelines should be followed. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc, Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
