Karen Merva Obituary

Karen M. Merva, 59, of Mahanoy City, formerly of Buck Run, passed away Sunday, August 28th, at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehab, Shenandoah Heights. Karen was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on November 21, 1962, a daughter of the late RoseMarie (Murphy) and Vincent Fergel, Sr. She was the wife of Francis Leonard Merva III. She was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corp. She was a graduate of Penn State University. She was a truck driver for many years employed by Swift Trucking . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Brother, Vincent Fergel Jr. Karen is survived by her husband, Francis L. Merva, a daughter, Katherine Fergel, a son, Alex Merva and her grandson Connor Fergel. Karen is also survived by a brother, Paul Fergel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday, September 6 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 600 W Mahanoy St, Mahanoy City. There are no calling hours. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
