Elvin Maley Jr. Obituary

Elvin J. Maley, Jr. 71 , passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 2nd at his home in Greenbury, Cass Twp.

 He was born on January 4, 1954 in Pottsville. He was the son of the late Elvin J. Maley Sr. and Dorothy (Truscott) Maley.

 Elvin was a 1971 graduate of Minersville Area High School. After graduation, he entered the work force becoming a part of several established companies including Quaker Maid Kitchens, Cadillac Cable, Lehigh Valley Dairy, various trucking companies including Amazon as a yard jockey until his retirement due to health concerns.

Over the years, Elvin enjoyed many sporting events. He was a dedicated member of the Curran dart throwing league and played softball for many years. When not participating himself, he attended Minersville football games to cheer them on but also enjoyed sitting in his comfy Lazy Boy watching the college football and softball games, the Phillies baseball games, and the ladies' PGA golf tournaments.

Elvin was also an avid hunter looking forward to deer season each year. His deep respect for the sport encouraged him to take on the responsibility of becoming a Game Commissioner for the surrounding area.

Elvin is predeceased by his parents, first wife, Joanne (Warhola) Maley, his sister, Debbie Kosmisky, brother, Michael Maley, niece, Meredith Barnhart, aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his heart. Elvin's big heart, sense of humor, witty comebacks, and charismatic presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him including his wife, Betsy (Mooney), brother, Robert Maley (Angie), Tremont, sister, Colleen Barnhart (Robert), Llewellyn, A sister-in-law, Linda Maley, Pottsville, brother-in- law, Rick Kosmisky, Auburn.   Also surviving is a son, Jeffrey Maley (Heather), Lake Wynonah, grandchildren, Tristan, McKenzie, and Kierra, stepsons, Albert Dusel (Cindy), Port Carbon, and Danny Mooney, St. Clair. As well as nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation that on Friday, August 8th from 9 - 11 a.m. followed by a service officiated by Pastor Karen Paquette at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home 104 S. Fourth St. in Minersville, PA.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations made to the First Inited Methodist Church of Llewellyn
