Daniel Joseph Chapman Sr., 72, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late Kelly Melvin Chapman and the late Elizabeth Jane Brennan.
Daniel grew up in Heckscherville and was the second of four children. He is survived by his siblings, Kelly Chapman Sr., Richard Chapman, and Karen Chapman.
He is survived by his children, Daniel J. Chapman and his wife, Dana Ballat; Carissa Motuk and her fiancé, Steven Hughes; and Brian Chapman.
His son, Mitchell Chapman, preceded him in death.
Daniel also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Lakeira, Julian, Kai, and Violet. He is also survived by his loving partner, Vicki Steigerwalt, to whom he was engaged and shared 25 years together.
A United States Marine, Daniel honorably served during the Vietnam Era from 1972 to 1974.
Daniel was a one-of-a-kind person. He had a gift for storytelling, loved telling jokes, making people laugh, and bringing joy to those around him. He was tough, gritty, and strong-willed — serious one moment and comical the next, yet deeply loving and caring. He was loyal, generous, and fiercely protective of the people he loved. Daniel enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting, spotting deer, going for rides, hanging out, and making memories with his family.
During his final months, Daniel was lovingly cared for by his sister, Karen; his longtime family friend, Bridget Mabry; his partner, Vicki; and his children, Daniel and Carissa.
