Charles Nush Obituary

Charles “Chas” Nush, 88 of Minersville, passed away Friday. October 23, at the Genesis Eldercare Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Minersville, January 15, 1932, he a son of the late Michael and Mary (Zettick) Nush. He was a member of the former St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Minersville. and the Minersville American Legion Post 544. Charles was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was retired from the Department of Defense working at Fort Indiantown Gap. He was also employed at the former Pritz Auto Inc., Minersville. Chas was an avid bowler, and his bowling skills took him to tournaments all over the country. He was the last member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents he was preeded in death by his wife, the former Anna (Andrusyshyn) Nush, who passed away December 29, 2008. Sisters; Ann Kessock and Julia Ostafy. Brothers; John (Frances), Joseph (Millie), and Walter (Mary) Nush. Chas is survived by a stepson Vincent Spinelle, step daughter Antoinette Boltz, grandsons Nicholas Spinelle, Jeffrey Boltz, and Mark Boltz; Granddaughters Jenna Spinelle and Becky Olive, and many nieces and nephews including caregivers, Monica (Nush) Teague and Frank Nush. A Visitation will be held Thursday with calling hours from 11:00 am to 11:45 followed by a Service of the Great Panachida with Very Reverend Gregory J. Noga officiating. Interment St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Cemtery. Due to COVID-19, all recommended social distancing, mask requirements, and public safety guidelines will be followed. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the Hillside S.P.C.A. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
