Obituary

Albert G. Stankavage, Sr. , 80, of Frackville, passed away Thursday, March 30th, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.. Albert was born in Ashland, Pa. on July 5, 1942, and raised in Frackville, a son of the late Julia (Hastina) and Alphonsus Stankavage. He was the husband of Shirley Ann (Beckett) Stankavage. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church Orwigsburg, . Albert served his country in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Div. with 42 “jumps” involvement. He was former steel mill worker having retired from Carpenter Technology. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Celine Trynosky, and Frances Greene.  Albert is survived by his wife, Shirley, three sons Albert G. Stankavage Jr, Curt Stankavage, and Brian Stankavage. Albert is also survived by a brother, Joseph Stankavage, and a sister, Colleen Kaplafka. He is also survived by grandsons, Mason & Josh Stankavage, and a granddaughter, Ava Stankavage.  A Religious Service as well as military honors will be held at 9:30 am, Thursday, April 6th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family asks that all wishing to attend, process from the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc.104 S. 4th st., Minersville.. The procession to Indiantown Gap will depart sharply at 8:30 am from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Church 10 Hollenbush Ln, Orwigsburg, PA. 17961. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. Minersville, entrusted with the arrangements.
